Welcome to WDACC 2024 hosted by Orange Photography Club

The competition this year is both Printed & Digital Images.

For those not familiar with the event, Western Districts Association of Camera Clubs hosts an interclub competition in August/September of each year where both Digital and Print entries submitted by both Club and Individuals are judged and showcased. The Western Districts area consists of member clubs from Bathurst, Dubbo, Goulburn, Grenfell, Harden Murrumburrah, Hay, Mudgee, Narromine, Orange, Parkes and Young.

The competition consists of two separate competition sections being Digital images and Print images – and this can change each year being only print images or only digital images – or a combination of both.

Each of these sections are then broken down into different image salons nominated by the host club.

This 2024 salons for print & digital are:

  • Iconic Central West Landscape or Landmark – Colour or Monochrome
  • Native Australian Flora – Colour or Monochrome
  • Native Australian Fauna – Colour or Monochrome
  • Still Life – Colour or Monochrome
  • Monochrome
  • Sport/Action – Colour or Monochrome
  • Macrophotography – Colour or Monochrome
  • Open – Colour only

Digital entries are submitted to the host Club in June/July of each year with judging and results announced August/September.

For those years where the competition is print images – a weekend is set aside for all Clubs to join together to view the printed images and eagerly await the announcement of competition results. The weekend will also comprise of guest speakers, workshops as well as the exhibition.

For those who are yet to attend a WDACC weekend – it is a great opportunity to meet up with other photographers from beginners to the experienced. It is highly recommended that members attend as it is a great learning opportunity.
